    Dr. Erick Mas graduated from the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, National University of Engineering, Lima, Peru, in 2004 and worked as a disaster prevention officer in a local government in Peru from 2005 to 2009. He completed his Ph.D. degree at Tohoku University, Graduate School of Engineering in 2012 and became an assistant professor at the International Research Institute of Disaster Science, Tohoku University in October 2012 and an associate professor at the same institute in June 2016. His research interests include multi-agent simulation applied to disaster science, tsunami numerical simulation, tsunami evacuation simulation, drone applications for disaster investigation, and remote sensing.

    Takayuki Suzuki graduated from the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Tokai University in 1997, and in the same year, engaged in tsunami research (Chiaki Goto Laboratory) in the master’s program of the Graduate School of Engineering, and completed the master’s program in 1999. Then he joined Kokusai Kogyo Co., Ltd. in April of the same year, assigned to the Ocean Department, engaged in coastal disaster prevention projects such as ocean survey and analysis (risk assessment related to tsunami disaster prevention, technology development, research consignment, etc.), March 2018, shares Partially seconded to the company RTi-cast Co., Ltd. and continues to the present.

    Dr. Akihiro Musa is chief operating officer and responsible for developments and operations of our real-time tsunami inundation forecasting system. He also engages in developing supercomputer systems at 1st Government and Public Solution Division, NEC Corporation and carries out a study on high performance computing as Visiting Professor at Cyberscience center, Tohoku University.

    Dr. Yusaku Ohta graduated from the Faculty of Science, Kochi University, Japan in 2002. He completed his Ph.D. degree at Nagoya University, Graduate School of Environmental Studies, Japan in 2007 and became an assistant professor at Tohoku University, Graduate School of Science, Research Center for Prediction of Earthquakes and Volcanic Eruptions, and an associate professor at the same research center in April 2014. Awarded the Commendation for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan, the Young Scientists’ Prize in 2017. He has been working on the advancement of crustal deformation analysis using GNSS, especially on the development of rapid estimation of coseismic fault models based on the real-time GNSS data.

    Yoichi Murashima Joined Kokusai Kogyo Co., Ltd in 1990 , assigned to the Ocean Department, engaged in coastal disaster prevention projects. He is a professional Engineer. He received Ph.D. degree from the Graduate School of Engineering, Tohoku University in 2011. Now He joined International Research Institute of Disaster Science, Tohoku University, as a project professor. Dr. Murashima carries out his research specifically on risk assessment of tsunami and disaster Information.

    Dr. Shunichi Koshimura received Ph.D. degree from the Graduate School of Engineering, Tohoku University in 2000. After graduating Tohoku University, he started his career as a JSPS research fellow in Earthquake Research Institute, the University of Tokyo, and in Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory (PMEL), NOAA, USA. In 2005, He joined the Graduate School of Engineering, Tohoku University as an associate professor, then in 2012, International Research Institute of Disaster Science, Tohoku University, as a professor. Dr. Koshimura carries out his research specifically on tsunami disaster management and geo-informatics. His main focuses are on developing a real-time tsunami inundation forecasting system with HPCI (High Performance Computing Infrastructure) and estimating social impacts of tsunami inundation by integrating numerical modeling, earth observation and geo-informatics.
